I’m not sure what it is, but I’ve been really into unnaturally lit places lately. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for the blissfully flattering overcast sky, but the tungstens and florescents have been calling my name lately.
Each shot was created indoors with available light only. No off-camera flash. Nothing but what is already there. I think one of the biggest challenges about wedding photography is taking what we’re given and making it art. Light-bulbs and symmetry…sometimes it’s all we need.
I hope you like them. I think they’re fun.
We’ll have a full wedding post coming soon. Promise!

P.S. These were shot in 1. The SkyWalk 2. Dupont Station 3. Morba Furniture Shop 4. Building #5 in the Distillery District
Newborn.
New parents.
New challenges.
New cries.
New smiles.
New milestones.
New moments…every moment.

I didn’t know Claire + Malcolm well before their wedding day. They were one of the few couples who chose not to do an engagement session, and so we hadn’t had much time to get to know one another. I was a little nervous — I’m accustomed to knowing my couples as though they are good friends. In fact, they usually are good friends by the time the big day rolls around. It’s like hanging out with pals. I was afraid I wouldn’t have that rapport with Claire + Malcolm. I shouldn’t have been worried.
From the time I walked in the door to the last frame of the night, Malcolm + Claire were kind, welcoming, and treated us like old friends. I am a lucky girl, and have wonderful clients.
It was the perfect June wedding. Friends from near and far, sunshine, and laughs. I have been very excited to show you these images. Enjoy!
Claire + Malcolm met at work in Ireland — he fell for this beautiful Irish lass and never looked back. Much of Claire’s family still resides in Ireland — including her sister who had a baby while the rest of the family was in the plane en route to the wedding. Thank goodness for Skype!
The ceremony took place at Spadina House, which is directly next door to Casa Loma. An incredible venue for a ceremony. And a perfect day to be outside (in the shade, of course!)
Neither Claire nor Malcolm are much interested in jewelery, so instead opted to have a traditional hand-binding ceremony in place of the rings.
Best best man’s speech ever. Everyone was cracking up. He should hire himself out as a professional speech-writer/professional best man. I would hire him!

Such a sweet night with two + many good people. Can’t you just feel the love?
Claire + Malcolm :: thank you for making my job easy. You are fantastic.
Happy Thursday, lovers!

Hellooooo Oresta + Michael. You saucy minxes, you. You lovers of love. You darlings of the heart.
So pretty, so fashionable. So nice. My couples rawk.
Hair + make up by Ivy Lam! She rawks, too
I promise to post a wedding soon. PROMISE! Cross my heart! Pinky swear!
In the meantime, try not to get sea sick from that animated GIF. Wowzers.
