This is an invitation.
An invitation to better family photos.
I receive dozens of emails from panicked moms and dads every October and November – each one more desperate for authentic and organic family photos.
Rather than waiting until the winter season is upon us, pick a night and ask me to your cottage. Invite me into your backyard at dusk. Bring me to your home first thing in the morning while you’re snuggled in bed with the little ones.
Let’s make REAL images.
In this time of newer/better/faster it is such a blessing and a treat to escape the city for a simpler life.
A life where the oil lamp burns, the baby naps in a cottage 20 feet away, and the boat ride to civilization takes 30 minutes.
A life where ‘date night’ happens around the kitchen table featuring gin, Monopoly, and a baby monitor.
A life where we remember the Important Things…and for a few days let go of everything else.
Sincerest thanks to Erin, Daniel, and Wills for the visit to Pointe Au Baril last summer. Gin, cheese, cocktail hour on the rock, baby snuggles, and a home-made breakfast filled my soul.
I’m a lucky girl.
P.S. If you noticed that these images look a little different from usual – you’re right!
I wanted to get back to basics, and shot this entire session on a very old Hasselblad 500 C/M and a Mamiya 645.
